I met Stephanie last summer shortly after my branding shoot with Annamarie Akins. Anna had blogged about our shoot and Stephanie saw that blog post and later approached me for planning and design services. She had a lovely and romantic vision for her day, full of soft details and timeless beauty. I was honored that she wanted to entrust that vision with me.
Stephanie and Mike met while in college at William & Mary. The were both editors for the school's newspaper and decided that after seeing each other over and over again in the newspaper's office that they should go on their first date! They began dating and continued all throughout their time in college. When they first graduated, they ended up working in separate cities and doing the long distance dating game for a while until they were both finally able to land jobs right here in Richmond!
Fun fact: Mike proposed to Stephanie at William & Mary where they had met all those years before. *Brownie points.*
Stephanie and Mike were married on June 25 at St. Edward's with their reception following at Independence Golf Club. They chose a soft and semi neutral color palette of white, blush, gold, and lots of greenery. The overall feel was classic and timeless with just a dash of a modern (hello modern calligraphy fonts!). I thoroughly enjoyed getting to exercise my design chops and developing a relationship with Stephanie in the process. I wish the best to these two kind souls and hope to stay in touch in the future! Let's raise a glass (of whatever it is you are currently drinking) to Stephanie and Mike!
Fun fact: Mike is a graphic designer and designed most of the stationery for their wedding!
Now for the fun part: photos!
When I first met Stephanie's mom I remember thinking, "You two could be twins!"
What an endearing expression!
I love their little red vintage "getaway car!" My husband and I had a black and white one for our wedding!
This was one of my favorite tablescapes I've worked on to date! I got to get into the venue on Friday (the day before) to set everything up, but because I had another wedding already booked the wedding day, I didn't get to be present for Stephanie's day of. So I have thoroughly loved getting to see everything come to life through these photos!
I hope you have enjoyed these photos as much as I have. Stephanie and Mike are thoughtful, caring people and I wish them much success in their life going forward!
