These gorgeous photos of Stephanie and Mike's sweet midsummer wedding by Annamarie Akins reflect their soft, romantic, and timeless wedding day.
Lacy and Trevor were married at Wolf Trap Farm near Charlottesville on April 16th, 2016 on the most beautiful Saturday afternoon with the most beautiful view of the Virginia countryside. Lacy came to me back in the fall looking for a day-of coordinator to help with her upcoming spring wedding. One of the truths I quickly noticed about Lacy and Trevor's love was that it is patient, sweet, and protective. They had a sweet, thoughtful, and intentional wedding ceremony (officiated by their dear friend Craig) full of their favorite worship songs and even a tree planting ceremony to signify the start of their new life together. The weather was a sunny, beautiful 72 degrees and Lacy made one of the prettiest brides I have ever seen.
Not only was it evident how much Lacy and Trevor loved it each other, but also how much they were both deeply loved by their friends and family. The MOH gave the most heartwarming speech about her love for Lacy and their long term friendship, their ability to read each other's minds during Charades, and how she couldn't wait until Lacy and Trevor could read each other's minds during games.
Lacy had the most beautiful bride's bouquet of peonies, ranunculus, dusty miller, and garden roses! So perfect for a spring wedding!
After the ceremony, guests were invited to the cocktail hour and reception. The theme was rustic and this was truly a DIY wedding with lots and lots of details and complete with a cotton candy tree! Fun fact: I also loved that Lacy is gluten free (like me) and had a gluten free cake or her and Trevor to cut and eat!
The guests ended the evening with lots and lots and lots of dancing and fun music. And Lacy and Trevor got to sneak off for photos during the most killer Virginia sunset. These photos are seriously magazine worthy!
And then they started their new lives together in submission and love as husband and wife!

A few weeks back I had the privilege of seeing the images from my good friend Christen's wedding this past September. They. Are. Stunning. I always get a sense of fulfillment and joy going back through photos of weddings I was fortunate enough to be a part of. And this past weekend we found out that they are going to be featured on a national wedding blog! How exciting!
Christen is a marketing genius, an avid seamstress, and just an overall cool person. She has been a tremendous support and asset for me in terms of marketing and growing my business and has insight and knowledge that is nothing short of priceless! She designed most of the wedding herself and the majority of the fabric was hand sewn (table linens, photo booth backdrop, getting ready shirts, etc). She chose a classical elegant theme and executed that theme effortlessly and seamlessly throughout each and every design element. This was a true DIY wedding!
Every time I see the photos I think she is one of the prettiest brides I've ever seen. I am not sure if I can remember a time seeing anyone with as much of a glow as she had on her wedding day! I enjoyed being a part of it!

I am so excited to finally be able to share these photos with you guys! I had the pleasure of working with Sarah + Chris back in October as their wedding coordinator. They were married at the Branch Museum on what may have been the perfect fall afternoon. The weather could not have been better, the leaves were stunning in their rich shades of red, gold, and orange, and Sarah looked every bit the picture of elegance and grace - with a dash of spunk - in her aptly chosen tea length gown from David's Bridal.
Sarah was one of the first brides I met shortly after starting this business, and I realized quickly that we have something in common; we both have a heart for the underprivileged. She works in Richmond's non-profit sector helping with homelessness and addiction. Chris is an avid biker and it was just fitting that the Branch Museum was housing a cycling exhibit during their wedding. Together, Sarah and Chris are a fun-loving couple that enjoy humor, adventure, and, of course, each other!
Sarah chose a rich shade of crimson for her bridesmaids' dresses that beautifully complimented the surrounding landscape. The florals and centerpieces by Fleura Works were dreamy and my intern, Lindsey, and I had a lot of fun decorating the tables! I loved it when Sarah gave me the table decor earlier that day and said "Do what you want. I trust you." That's my kind of client right there!
In the end, it was a day of fun and joy for Sarah, Chris, their friends, and families. They (and their guests) ate, talked, laughed, and danced the night away! Congratulations again you two! I am honored to have been a part of your special day!
